Managing Your Online Personal Health Record (PHR) Using MyHealthID
MyHealthID is an advanced, secure online system to create and manage your personal health record.
Upon establishing your account, your identity is confirmed through a one-time credit card-based verification providing access to the benefits of developing and maintaining an online personal health record. Once authenticated, you are empowered to request documents from your healthcare providers.
To obtain your medical records, you select your doctor or enter their email address (or that of their administrative team). Then, you specify the types of documents you wish to have uploaded in your secure MyHealthID account. MyHealthID then issues electronic document requests on your behalf to the respective healthcare provider(s).

Upon receiving the request, your healthcare provider's administrative staff uploads the requested documents (either images, faxes, .pdf, MS Word documents, etc.) into your secure MyHealthID account.

Upon receipt of requested documents, the change in status of your request is noted online. Then you can log into your MyHealthID account to view your medical records. Per HIPPA rules and regulations, you can then also choose to provide access to other healthcare providers or download your records to a secure, encrypted USB device that you may carry with you or place in a secure location for immediate access.
